Who is in this race?

Hinson serves in the U.S. House. Turek is a former athlete and state lawmaker.

What does the archive look at?

The archive looks at health care, family needs, and each person's record.

Where does campaign money come from?

The archive says it did not find AIPAC PAC donations in the records it searched. It also raises a question about Turek's pledge on corporate PAC money.

What still needs checking?

A pledge should be checked against actual filings. An endorsement is not the same as a donation.

Five things to look at

1. Health care
2. Jobs and money
3. Safety and fairness
4. War and military spending
5. Children and families

Ask the same questions about both people. Look at what they did, not just what they said.

What do these words mean?

PAC: A group that raises or spends money in politics.

Outside spending: Money a group spends to help or oppose a candidate. It is not always a gift to the campaign.

Pending: We still need to check.

Flag: Something the archive asks readers to look at more closely. A flag is not proof of wrongdoing.
